Weekly Email
A weekly email with follow up review questions will be sent out to parents as an important review tool for your children; please read these emails thoroughly to ensure that you are up to date.
Maintaining our Health
La'briut! If you think your child may not be feeling well, please refrain from sending your child to Hebrew School. We are happy to send catch up emails and reviews as needed.
School Hours
Class begins promptly every Sunday at 10:00 am. Please be sure that your child arrives on time. Hebrew School ends at 12:00 noon. If you will be more than 10 minutes late picking up your child, please notify us.
Tuition
Tuition fees should be paid on time. Online you will see payment options. Prompt attention to tuition fees is necessary as we depend on these funds for operation.
Attendance
The first step in the right direction is for parents and children to recognize that attend ance is the key to a successful Hebrew School. Parents should schedule all appointments, enrichment programs and extra-curricular activities around Hebrew School.
Snow Days & Cancellations
In the event that Hebrew School should be canceled whether due to snow or unforeseen circumstances, you will receive an email by 8:00 am Sunday morning notifying you about the cancellation.
Dress Code
All boys are required to wear a Kippah for all classes. Please encourage your son to re member to wear his Kippah when at Chabad.
Electronics
Phones or electronic games should not be brought to Hebrew School, as they can distract from learning. If your child must bring a phone to school, he/she will be asked to leave it in a phone bin until dismissal.
Behavior
Students and all members of the school community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with Rabbi Hillel’s Rule: ‘What is hateful to you, never do to your fellow person: that is the entire Torah; all the rest is commentary’ (Hillel in Talmud: Shabbat, 31a). Student conduct is measured against this criteria and, if found wanting, the necessary steps are taken by Hebrew School’s professional staff to correct the behav ior with emphasis on the educative rather than on the punitive.
Aleph Champ Homework
The value of parental involvement in the learning process cannot be overstated. Each week, teachers will assign their students a Hebrew reading homework assignment. Please take the time to ensure that your child(ren)’s homework is completed during the week.
Rewards
As a reward and incentive for good behavior, completion of homework, and participa tion, teachers distribute Mitzvah Coins/Miles to their students throughout Hebrew School. A Mitzvah Store will be opened several times throughout the year at which students can “purchase” toys, games and prizes.
Holiday Programs
Parents are encouraged to attend and participate in all Hebrew School holiday celebra tions. You will be notified of each program, party or event as it approaches.
